Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock, & Bath Tour

Stonehenge

Sometimes the easiest way to explore multiple sites at once while on vacation is to jump on a tour bus. While on our honeymoon, my husband wanted desperately to see Stonehenge while I wanted to explore Lacock. So I booked a tour of Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock, and Bath through England Experience Tours and it was incredible!

It was a small group tour of only 14 people so it was a more intimate experience. At each stop, our fabulous tour guide gave us a wealth of information and facts. The tour was a total of 12 hours which made for a longer day but definitely worth it!

Table of Contents

Stonehenge

We departed from London and our first stop was Stonehenge. We had a staggering 1.5 hours to tour Stonehenge, which was plenty of time. There is a wonderful museum that I highly recommend exploring. We toured the stones first and then went to the museum. We even had some time to grab a vegetable pasty from the cafe before boarding our small van.

Avebury

The next stop was the small town of Avebury and we spend about 1 hour and 15 minutes there. Avebury also has the same neolithic stones as Stonehenge but you can touch them, or in my case hug them! There is a small pub in town called the Red Lion that has a variety of local beers and was a perfect hideout from the rain.

Lacock

After Avebury, we journeyed to Lacock. We had about 1 hour and 15 minutes here and our tour guide was kind enough to walk us around the town and give us amazing history and facts. I am a huge Harry Potter fan so of course I had to visit the filming locations of the Potter House and Professor Slughorn’s House. Lacock Abbey was used as the inside of Hogwarts and also used in the 1995 BBC TV series of Pride and Prejudice (with Colin Firth).

Bath

Our last stop of the day was the beautiful city of Bath. We had 2 hours to explore this gorgeous city! I had plenty of time to see Pulteney Bridge, Bath Abbey, The Roman Baths (just the outside), The Circus, The Royal Crescent, and have a sit down dinner at a delicious Italian Restaurant (The Real Italian Pizza Company). Touring The Roman Baths is doable in 2 hours but don’t expect to see the rest of the city. If your interested in other sites in Bath, check out my ultimate guide.

Until next time,
